Hello
I am Lanie (rhymes with "rainy") Doerr ("door"),
& I am passionate about mental health.
My Story
I attended a country school for elementary . . . It was literally in the country - not even in a small town! There were pastures on 3 sides of it and a crop field on the 4th. I grew up on a farm in the Oklahoma panhandle and graduated with a class of 13 students from our little high school. I attended Oklahoma State University after high school & got my bachelor's degree in biological sciences.

I've worked as an insurance agent, a landscaper, & a farmer. I have 3 children and a supportive husband.
I earned my master's in clinical mental health counseling from Liberty University. I was encouraged by a few professors to pursue writing in association with mental health since they perceived my aptitude for it.

I am proud to work as an advocate for mental health. I offer professional counseling sessions, & I offer speaking or training sessions. The 2 topics I am already prepared to speak about (in-person within a 2-hour radius of my home) or online are:
Farmer Mental Health
Caregiver Grief, retaining high-quality employees in residential care facilities through improved mental health training & management support

My theoretical psychology background is mostly influenced by:
existential therapy and positive psychology,
sensorimotor psychotherapy and Theraplay,
and acceptance and commitment therapy.

It is my goal to connect with clients and the public in a way that creates a creative & collaborative environment. I have seen very beneficial changes in clients' lives after counseling.
It is an honor to be part of the journey of someone as courageous as a therapy client.
